RAVEMAP ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at www.ravemap.app and the RAVEMAP mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account via Google OAuth or email sign-up, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture through our authentication provider, Clerk. We do not store your Google password.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our services, including pages visited, events saved, artists followed, search queries, and general usage patterns. This data is collected via Vercel Analytics and is anonymized.

Location Data

With your permission, we collect your approximate location to show nearby events. On mobile, we request "When In Use" location permission with balanced accuracy. You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings. If you decline, we fall back to IP-based geolocation.

Device Information

We may collect device type, operating system, browser type, and screen resolution for analytics and to optimize your experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Display electronic music events, artists, and venues near you
• Save your favorite events and followed artists
• Personalize event recommendations based on your preferences
• Improve our services, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Send important service notifications (e.g., account security)
• Analyze aggregate usage trends to improve the platform

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Clerk — Authentication and user management
• Supabase — Database hosting (your saved events, follows)
• Vercel — Website hosting and analytics
• Mapbox — Map rendering (receives approximate location when you use the map)
• Google — OAuth sign-in, Search Console

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Event Data Sources

RAVEMAP aggregates publicly available event information from sources including Ticketmaster, Songkick, Resident Advisor, and others. This data is publicly available event listings and does not include any personal user information.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential cookies for authentication (Clerk session tokens) and preferences. We use Vercel Analytics which collects anonymized usage data without using cookies. On mobile, we use secure local storage for authentication tokens and cached data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Withdraw consent for location tracking at any time
• Export your data (saved events, followed artists)

8. Children's Privacy

RAVEMAP is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Clerk, and row-level security on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
